Time goes by..so slowly

I've been super busy with classes and working I'm so stressed out. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Heard the BET awards sucked pretty bad this year...doesn't surprise me at all. Oh and I've been hearing Michael Jackson every corner I turn- much creepier than previous years...R.I.P.

One the other end of the music world, I'd like to talk about one of my favorite bands- Beirut. I've been obsessed with gypsy music and culture since early high school and to hear Beirut's gypsy and eastern European influence is refreshing. The gentle voice with gypsy horns is complete radness.

Favorite songs by them- "St. Apollonia" and "Postcards from Italy" (lyrical geniuses too) ha

check out the gypsy style also- loose garments that flows and a few gaudy jewelery items ;]

The Girl From Ipanema

If you enjoy a great jazzy, oldie tune check out "The Girl From Ipanema" by Astrud Gilberto. So romantically charming and makes you feel like having a cocktail and ciggarette. 1960s style you know how I roll :]

here's the link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9U6URQSF6U

"Tall and tan and young and lovely,

the girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah

When she walks, she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gently"

Best I Ever had...the best I ever haddd.

Lily Allen has exceptional style. Not everyone likes her but I can point out a few things that I like about her.

1. She's got a classic simple look and needs very little makeup.

2. She's not afraid to be crazy with her fashion.

3. She's not afraid to speak her mind.

4. She's curvy and not stick thin (although she has lost quite a bit of lbs.)

I mean and she has a british accent..a bit posh but she's rad.

My fave songs by her- "Knock 'em out," "Alfie," and, " Oh My God."

Notes 2.14pm NJ
The memories of a friend's London accent makes her smile. Last night's party leaves me drained. I need sleep. But I refuse. Lawn mowers reluctantly voice their opinions in the distance. I wish my life were a movie- It'd be crazy. No, Barry White, I can't enough of YOUR love baby. I hate the sounds of aim IMs ha. screwin up my groove session...can't a girl just get down over here geez.

Times a wastin'

Sorry it's been a while. Training for my summer job has kept me busy, however it hasn't kept me away from chictopia.com! Haha. So I decided I'm going to a liberal arts school this fall and majoring in art. I'm excited to follow my passions! Thank you to all that gave me advice.

By the way, took a trip to the mall today and got a 60's inspired form fitting grey dress from H&M and a royal blue tanktop with aqua accenting from Express. I can't wait to get to the thrift store to finish the outfits off! I also can't wait to take some decent photos for you all and to post on chictopia to get me off the ground with my page there!

I also never wear this one dress I have from H&M that is grey and yellow that has the words "all that glitters is gold" all over it- should take a pic of that too ill put one on here haha.

notes 12.55am nj

Airplanes murmur above my house traveling through the dark clouds.
My skin is successfully golden from the strong rays that had everyone complaining.
The tiger growls within my stomach making it known that it's unhappy.
Facebook craves my affection but I don't crave it back.
My sleepy eyes want slumber, something I feel I forgot how to do well...

Cookie-cutter To Wild

So, I'm at a point in my life that should've occurred earlier. I don't know what I'm doing. I know some things are definite: I love art and fashion.

The things that I had going for me don't seem to make me happy and I wish I would've faced them in late high school...I'm going to college out in the middle of nowhere in central Pennsylvania, I'm studying Sociology and Fine Arts. I'm sick of being realistic- I've lived my whole life that way. Can I just dream a little and move on from there?

I'm thinking about transferring to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in NYC...I feel like it would truly make me happy. What do you think? Should I follow my passions? Or should I follow the cookie-cutter mold and make some money with a decent job lined up? Maybe a liberal arts school with a awesome art dept? I'm stuck.

Cowboys and Cowgirls

Let's get one thing straight- I hate American West History. Seriously, was it necessary to just fight on horses, look for outlaws, and take Native American land? This is the most boring and violent history of America in my opinion. However, Only two good things came from it- The Saloon girl and the saddle bag.

The Saloon girl was there for men's entertainment but these girls were fierce and confident- not to mention their outfits were pretty damn seductive and frilly!

Not only that, but the Western Saddle bag that cowboys and cowgirls used on their horses were also pretty fly. Well...they didn't look so nice until Dior remodeled them. I want one of these bags with a passion!

Notes 12.14am NJ
The rain ceases, allowing a day for people to smile. Although some do not and some make it impossible.
Bickering family members repel me from thinking I'm happy to be home after a night of babysitting.
Faded echoes of a crying baby bounce off the walss of my brain making it ache.
But, Who can resist those big blue eyes tearing up while parents stuff money in my pockets.
I need, yes need, sand to touch my soles. I want to be in the sun, baking into a darker shade of biracial perfection.
To feel the ocean breeze lap over my freckled skin. I need to go to the beach... Only when the rain stops.

Just a little something

Just for you all to get a little idea of how I dress I'll post some photos :]

This Is Not A Test

A simple introduction: Spontaneity that I am. I respect myself and others and expect the same... I keep it old-school sometimes, but I am very modern.

I want to network and connect with other Fashionistas. I want to express myself through style, art, and writing so bare with me.

Notes 3.19pm NJ:

90s music escapes through the tiny holes in my computer. I sit here looking at a very white screen. A used plate awaits my attention. The old window is worn from many years of thunder storms...and I thought I had it bad. Nylon litters or graces my bed sheets. Fashion is something that I take seriously...unless I'm ill. ha. Yelle is now shouting French at me and I am pleased. à bientôt mon ami.
