Weight Issues?

Ha ha my Astronomy professor told my class last night that he has been planning on writing a weight loss book. When we asked how he would suggest losing weight, he responded, "Sitting on top of a mountain, moving to the equator, or moving to the moon. You'd just have to make sure to not bring a mirror...because you'd look the same." Ha!

Apparently people way a pound less at the equator because that part of the earth is risen due to the constant spinning of it. Just thought that was funny and that I'd share.

...In reality, I've learned that you aren't going to lose weight with the mindset that you have to. You lose weight with the mindset that you want to be in shape. There's a difference.

Oh well, enough about that ha ha.

Thifting = Environmentally friendly

Yes, we all know it feels pretty awesome to go out and buy something new. Sometimes you have to pause and think...geez I'm feeding into this consumer nation. Buying tons of stuff is really not the right way to act in a recession- I think we all know that too.

It's a known fact that fashion and styles recycle. So why not go to a thrift store and pick up some retro things that are in style (You're guarenteed to find something!) If you can't find anything that's in style...It's okay to experiment people. Create your own style.



If you're one of those people that just can't stand to think that someone else wore what you want to buy? Suck it up. I'm sure you have things in your closet that are hella cute but really only wore once. This could be the case with these clothes too and besides, a little laundry detergent never heard anybody.

What I'm trying to get to here is this:

1. I'm an Enviro. Sci. Major and I still find ways to protect the environment while maintaining my love for fashion. (So you can do it too).

2. You don't only have to buy recycled clothing, you can also find purses, scarfs, accessories, and cool random stuff at thrift stores.

3. You can also make money buy giving bags of clothes to the salvation army, while continuing to shop around for some sweet finds.

4. You can find vintage designer pieces. And we all love that :]

Alexander McQueen RIP

I was so sad to hear about his death the other day. People think that when they see that other people have it all they must be so happy. In reality, successful people have real problems too; you have to remember that.

Suicide. So depressing. Some people say it's because his mother passed 9 days before before he commited. No one really knows because the last time he tweeted he talked about how terrible his week was. No matter the motive- He was a great man with a brilliant eye and could create things that no other could.

RIP to a fantastic designer, you will be missed Alexander McQueen at 40 years old :[

Snagged an awesome Soviet communist military Hat from Provincetown Cape Cod MA. It's black and furry and is perfect for the winter!



While I was up in New England I also picked up some Marc by Marc Jacobs things and a few random things here and there. Oh and If you're wondering what happened since my last few blogs. Just was busy with the semester and getting my life together haha. Also, I got the Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne perfume and lotion and I tried out straight bangs again. Although, I think I am going to keep my hair curly for a while to get it healty and long.
Indian Hemp is still my top hair product...never fails to nourish.



Oh and I couldn't resist but to rip on these new Spring 2010 Chanel clog heels. Am I alone on this- Aren't they hideous?! What is fashion coming to?! Unless they are Eco-friendly I'd understand. But seriously- what is this mess. Tell me what you think.
